FOR THE ORIGINALS
THE CHALLENGE
Publishing can feel daunting, especially as AI eclipses the human voice. Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) democratises access by bypassing traditional gatekeepers and amplifying untold stories – but its social media presence falls short. My challenge was to strengthen KDP’s connection with aspiring authors, ensuring authentic voices find their place.
THE SOLUTION
I collaborated with the creative director and strategists to conceptualise an identity that played on the abstraction of what it means to have a unique perspective. The identity celebrates individuality and creativity through playful collage art, mirroring the imperfect, human nature of writing; countering the AI trend by emphasising the unique qualities of independent artists.

KDP will partner with Vrbo to launch a global writer's retreat campaign, offering new authors tranquil vacation rental spaces to inspire their creativity. By securing properties in various markets and inviting promising writers, KDP demonstrates its commitment to nurturing original talent. This initiative will generate diverse content for cross-promotion on Vrbo and KDP's meta channels, including video interviews, quote cards, and arrival reels, while extending across KDP’s full marketing mix and their website.

This concept displays what a social post would look like to showcase an aspiring author embarking on a KDP x Vrbo retreat – creative copy paired with an eye-catching visual capturing the interest of existing and new audiences.


// IDENTITY IN MOTION
"Building on the established look and feel, I translated the visual identity into motion, using existing shapes and forms to carry the brand’s tone of voice. I animated the waveforms with the same personality and energy established in the static post designs. This motion language was also adapted for bespoke campaigns, creating visually distinct outputs while maintaining consistency, as demonstrated in the Romantasy campaign.
